etc.® - Everything "and More"
In a textile industry filled with sameness, the anti-friction properties of etc.® are unique.
etc.® is our top-selling performance textile and the cornerstone of our company. etc® loosely translated from Latin means ‘and more.’ At Sheehan Associates, the ‘and more’ idea means creating one-of-a-kind textiles that perform differently and better than anything offered by our competitors.
etc.® dramatically reduces friction, which means less heat and moisture build-up. Less moisture build-up means less odor-causing bacteria. The most important benefit of all: superior comfort.
Finally, the ‘and more’ concept also extends to our customer service. We consistently go beyond expectations for our loyal customer base with responsiveness to their needs, attention to detail, fair pricing and on-time deliveries.
Pads provide enhanced performance between horse and rider thanks to etc®. textiles friction-fighting properties.
Long-time Sheehan Sales customer JenX Equine (jenxequine.com) served as the official saddle pad for the Canadian Equestrian team at the World Equestrian Games in Mill Spring, N.C., September 11- 23.
“We’re very proud of our long-standing relationship with JenX owner Jennie Hegeman and her relationship with Team Canada, especially because her products represent the ultimate performance test of our friction fighting etc.® textiles,” said V.P. of Sales Mike Sheehan.
Hegeman explained: “It was both an honor and a pleasure to work with these outstanding athletes – horses and riders — over those two weeks. As the leading performance saddle pad in the world, these Games gave us an opportunity to make certain we’re putting every innovation possible into our products. Comfort is especially important in the equestrian event called ‘Endurance’ which requires riding 100 miles over mountainous terrain — including traversing waterways — in about 12 hours or less. This is where our use of Sheehan’s etc.® next to the horse’s skin plays an extremely important role. The etc.® reduces friction to near zero, minimizes perspiration build-up, and – as a result – provides exceptional comfort to the horse.”
“This ‘real world’ test for Jennie’s saddle pads and our etc.® textiles is where the rubber meets the road. These horses and riders are some of the world’s premier athletes and we’re happy to do our small part to ensure that they give their best performance,” Sheehan added.
JenX Equine manufactures premier equestrian equipment utilizing the most technologically advanced materials. The company’s saddle pads are engineered specifically for targeted sports applying physiology, anatomy and technology. Their equipment is made in the USA from U.S.-manufactured materials.
“Sheehan Sales has been a valued partner to Ortholite for two decades. Their etc.® fabric provides complementary performance features to our open cell foams by enhancing the breathability, moisture management, and anti-microbial function of our insoles. Combining etc.® with Ortholite foams results in a perfect insole package with maximum levels of performance by creating a cooler, drier and healthier shoe environment.”
“As both an ultra-marathoner and a footwear designer, I’m always looking for ways to improve performance. I’ve been using etc.® in running shoes and insoles for a long time for that very reason. Simply stated, etc.® works. I’m confident I can go the distance in comfort without having to worry about heat or moisture build-up and blisters resulting from constant friction over many miles.”
“My new XTreme Performance equestrian line provides a comfortable ride and a high level of performance for both horse and rider. My design challenge is always to create equipment that melds two dynamic and opposing biomechanical forces. Because of its lightweight, breathable and anti-friction properties, etc.® technology helps me meet that challenge. As a result, I find myself incorporating etc.® into my designs more and more frequently.”
“etc.® lining materials have been a consistent feature of numerous Reebok Sport and Fitness products for over 15 years. We have gone from sockliner top coats to full 360 degree lining packages and the results are always the same: No blisters. We have provided footwear for the CrossFit games for the past six years and have had no complaints from athletes or coaches. The product works.”
“The level of support that Mike and Donna Sheehan have provided over the years is unmatched. They care about their customers and go above and beyond to always make sure our needs are met. They are one of our only US-based suppliers and certainly one of our best. They care about their relationships and their products. “
“adidas golf chooses premium footwear materials and components to provide only the best for our athletes. This is definitely the case with our Tour 360 BOOST golf shoe, the number one selling model in the USA following its launch in 2016.
The etc.® shoe lining fabric in the BOOST provides unrivalled friction control, anti-microbial and moisture wicking properties that allowed the #1 and #2 golfers on the PGA Tour in 2016, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson, to concentrate on what they do best: Winning. Their adidas golf shoes simply became an extension of their bodies, in no small part due to their etc.® technical lining material”
